Jyotirmayi and Vadivelu join Pasupathi for Vedigundu Murugesan, a village story that sounds promising. “The treatment will be mature but will remain within the commercial format. We’ve got just 10 days of work to wrap u p the shoot,” says the film’s director Murthy. His recent film, Karuppasamy Kuthagaitharar, with Karan as hero came in for much acclaim. “Pasupathi suits the part perfectly. Set in Rajapalayam, the story has Pasupathi playing someone who supplies water to hotels in the area. He loves literature and spends his leisure reading literary works. The character will be very different from what you’ve seen on screen before,” assures Murthy.

Jyotirmayi, Murthy feels, has not got her due in Tamil yet. “I was very impressed with her performance in Malayalam, and decided she’s the apt choice,” he says. Jyotirmayi plays a naive police constable in …Murugesan.
