Jaganmohini returns

Jaganmohini returns:

Thirty years ago, Jayamalini took moviedom by storm with Jaganmohini. Today, Namitha is gearing up for a similar show with the new version of the film. Why Namitha? “She’s one actor with glam who can pull it off success fully. She was the first name that came to our minds,” says producer H. Murali. “We’ve taken the base story, but made changes to suit the times,” he informs. The new … Mohini will be made with state-of-the-art techniques. “The scene where Namitha harvests pearls underwater (shot in the Andamans) will be a highlight.” Are fantasy period films commercially viable now? “Didn’t Imsai Arasan … clearly prove it? Any story told interestingly is bound to sell,” says a confident Murali. He’s right. Narration could make all the difference.
